State Flower

We were at Gooseberry Falls State Park last night to see the Pink Lady Slippers. They had just blossomed. There nine plants with seven in full blossom and two a little past prime. Gooseberry State Park has a special enclosure for them in a out of the way section of the park. They will last […]

I was up at the Silver Bay marina earlier in the week to see if the North Shore Scenic cruise boat M/V Wenonah was at dock. Well it wasn’t there yet but they are going to do cruises around the middle of May so I know it will be there soon. Their cruises go by […]

Lake Superior Laker’s

Over 30″ of fresh snow and temp’s around zero, but the Laker’s are still operating on the Lake. They usually ship until about mid January but because of this cold weather we are getting in early December this could end their season earlier this year. Not so sure it is much fun being on a […]

Eagles in waiting

A poor deer met her demise last nite while trying to cross Hwy 61 in front of our Inn. I noticed a couple Eagles waiting for a chance to get a meal. I went to get the camera and when I got back out there 5 Eagles were sitting up there along with 3 crows. […]

Still is Fall on the North Shore

We still have quite few leaves left on the trees and lots of color still in the ground cover. Yes it’s getting colder but the hiking is good and it’s not nearly as busy. A great time to come to the North Shore.
